Spiro is a pan-African electric-mobility company operating across Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Benin, Togo and Nigeria, with manufacturing plants in several of those countries. It runs one of the continent's largest e-moto fleets — around 22,000 electric motorbikes that have completed over 15 million battery swaps.
Its flagship boda bike, the Ekon 450M2, is built around a battery-as-a-service model: Spiro keeps ownership of the batteries and runs a dense network of automated swap stations, so a rider exchanges a flat battery for a charged one in under a minute. The Ekon is engineered for commercial duty with a long comfortable seat, generous payload and rugged clearance for African roads.
